The prestigious Miaoulis Mansion is few minute away from Hydra port, on the western slope providing stunning views from Tselevinia islands to the island of Spetses. It was constructed by Venetian architects around 1808, as a residence for Admiral A. Miaoulis. Today the house is listed by the Greek Archaeological Society as a monument. It consists of the main building and two single stories outbuildings. All decorative elements i.e. painted ceilings, wooden beam ceilings, apses around windows and doors, cupboards, were accurately restored. Modernization took place in areas needing to provide comfort for to-day residents.
Living experience in this historical building is unique. Each of the large windows of the main house is in its self a portrait changing continually. The veranda overlooking the garden is ideal for relaxing after a day of swimming watching the sun set and enjoying a cool drink. The beach is just 5’ away.
The house consists of three different buildings.
A large patio- nearly covered by a huge rubber tree -leads to the main house, functional and storage spaces. The main house consists of two large bedrooms and two large bathrooms, large entrance and adjusted hall, living and dining area, kitchen and dining corner. Large windows provide great views to the sea and the surrounding.
The eastern building has two double air conditioned bedrooms with bathrooms and showers each, as well as a seating -dining area in-between.
The southern building is a double volume structure consisting of a small seating, two double bedrooms with bathrooms and showers each and kitchen. An independent space with desk provides a quiet corner for the residents. A door from this building drives to the large veranda with a breathtaking view to the sea and the garden.
